Attracting great employees is all about culture, and using continuous improvement and lean tools demonstrate a commitment to people, and it pays off in the end.One of the biggest obstacles to growth reported by converters and converter suppliers is finding resources. Finding and retaining employees has become more of a science since Covid, and building an attractive work environment has never been more critical. Coming from the operational side of the business, I often wonder why there is hesitancy in adopting lean manufacturing and a continuous improvement approach to running a business.
Coatings and varnishes can provide functional properties that are crucial for the performance and durability of packaging. They also play a key role in realizing a Circular Economy, for example by enabling the switch from multi- to mono-material packaging.They not only help to replace extra material layers, and thereby reduce packaging complexity, but also to equip renewable materials like paper with functional properties needed to replace other packaging material (so called paperization), and thereby enable theiruse for a wider range of packaging applications.
